Aleksei Meritt-Powell as "The Hunter"
In February 2024, Shane and his close friend Carson decided to make a movie during their annual group campout in the Anza Borrego Desert. Together, they wrote a western movie script and storyboard, creating their first-ever film production, Agua Caliente, named after the campsite.
With various friends and family on set as cast members or behind-the-camera personnel, Shane and Carson’s group managed to create a fun, action-packed film that captures the spirit of classic westerns. Using the resources available to them, they crafted an effective production, shooting with Canon, Sony, and Olympus cameras. Sound design was carefully tailored in post-production by Shane and Carson, who were learning the ropes as first-time filmmakers. Agua Caliente stands as a testament to their creativity, teamwork, and passion for storytelling.
Crew members on set captured countless behind-the-scenes photos and videos, documenting the actors and filmmaking process. Every photo you see here comes directly from the set, giving a real glimpse into the making of Agua Caliente.
